Investigators say a 13-year-old girl driving her parents’ SUV caused a four-vehicle crash in Boulder County on Friday morning that included a school bus in these scenarios you would need a Boulder personal injury lawyer to help with the injuries. Colorado State Patrol Trooper Josh Lewis said the 13-year-old, from Longmont, was driving her parents 2009 Chevrolet Suburban by herself north on U.S. 287 when she failed to stop at the intersection with Lookout Road, rear-ending a Kia Optima.

The crash forced the Kia Optima into the intersection where it hit a Boulder Valley School District school bus. Lewis said the Chevrolet also continued into the intersection where it hit a Subaru Forester and the school bus. Lewis said the drivers of the Kia and the Subaru were transported to Longs Peak Hospital with moderate injuries. The driver of the school bus suffered moderate injuries but was not transported. The 13-year-old was not injured.

Boulder Valley officials said Friday that the bus had just begun its route and only one student was on the bus at the time of the crash. The student was not injured. Lewis said the 13-year-old was charged with careless driving and driving without a license. The teen’s name was not released because she is a juvenile.
