Motorcycle Accident Occurs North Boulder Crash

The motorcycle rider hit by an RTD bus in north Boulder last week. The rider was identified in a release from the Boulder County Coroner’s Office on Monday as Ryan Bigoness, 37. The release did not state when Bigoness died. Boulder police said the crash occurred at the intersection of Broadway and Lee Hill Drive just before 6 p.m. Wednesday. According to a release, the motorcyclist was headed south on Broadway when he collided with the bus, whose driver was making a left turn on to Lee Hill Drive from northbound Broadway.

Boulder police said the motorcyclist was transported to the hospital in critical condition before succumbing to his injuries in the days following the crash. While she could not confirm the date of death, Boulder police spokeswoman Marya Washburn said the case is now being investigated as a fatal crash, though the the Boulder County Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death. Washburn said police are still investigating the crash to determine if charges are appropriate. The driver of the bus, a 66-year-old man, and three passengers on the bus were not injured.
