Investigation reveals the City of Denver

has paid over half a million dollars for accidents in which an on-duty Police Officer was found to be at fault.

A local news station conducted an investigation and reported that the City of Denver has paid $502,143.95 for Denver car accidents caused by Denver Police Officers since 2015 all these cases required Denver car accident lawyers and Denver personal injury lawyers. The investigation also reported that there are multiple officers (45) who were found to be at fault in at least three car accidents while on duty. Deputy Chief Matt Murray stated that based on the stressful work environment and the amount of miles police officers are required to drive, the number of accidents is not particularly alarming. Deputy Murray reported his officers drove over 10,000,000 miles in 2017.

New Jersey couple awarded $117 million in talcum powder case

Jurors ordered Johnson & Johnson and talc company Imerys to pay $117 million to a New Jersey man who got mesothelioma after using talc products for 30 years. The jurors awarded $30 million and $ 7 million in compensatory damages to the Plaintiff and his wife respectively, and $80 million in punitive damages.

Talc’s deposits are often found near asbestos deposits, and studies have shown the risk of cross-contamination during mining. This was a first jury trial for asbestos-related talcum powder case. Johnson & Johnson is facing separate lawsuits that link ovarian cancer to the continuous use of talc products.
